Bio of Daniel Dalpiaz!

Daniel Dalpiaz is a well-rounded fitness professional whose background includes experience in step aerobics, hip hop, box aerobics, resistance ball training, funk, kickboxing, and Rebound Aerobics.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Kean College located in Union, New Jersey. While there he also studied dance. In addition to his formal education, he earned a black belt in Karate style Tae-Kwon Do. Dalpaiz’s Asian arts training is reflected in his motivational style of teaching, while the fun of dance permeates through all his class offerings.

Dalpiaz has been teaching fitness classes for over eight years. His signature style is to spice up the traditional classes by adding more advanced dance movements and choreography. "I break down my classes by teaching basic steps so that everyone is comfortable with them. I then add funky or dance stylized movements for students to add if they so desire," said Dalpiaz who is certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, as well as AAAI. Dalpiaz has also moved on to become a master class workshop provider of continuing educational units, which allows him to travel while teaching. Most recently Mr. Dalpiaz has added Rebound Aerobics to his repertoire of classes that he teaches. He adds a lot to Rebound aerobics because of his diverse background. Dalpiaz loves the low-impact of rebounding and the ability to tone and train cardio-vascular at the same time while rebounding. His high energy low impact rebound aerobics classes will captivate and challenge everyone in attendance. Included in Mr. Dalpiaz’s teaching approach is a theory of energy transfer. He believes that as the teacher, he initiates the energy and passes it onto students. They add their momentum, and return energy to the instructor continuing the circuit. In addition to high-energy classes, he strives to offer an instructional format that challenges students to use their brain power in addition to muscular and cardio-vascular power. "Students have to think when taking my class. I encourage them to learn routines by heart, then at the end of the class I have them execute the whole routine while I watch," said Dalpiaz. Daniel Dalpiaz can be found teaching regularly at various New York City fitness clubs, Yvette’s Dance Studio in Cranford, New Jersey, and presenting specialty classes for New York Sports Clubs.

Bio of Holly Anderson!

After her own victory over a series of debilitating injuries, using the rebounder, Holly became very involved in rebound exercise. Holly Anderson founded a company in 1992 and she developed a pair of exercise videos entitled AirObics. Over the years she has also written additional instructional programs as well as personal training programs with rebound exercise.

Holly healed pain from bursitis, arthritis symptoms in her fingers, tendonitis in her elbow, and a nagging knee injury through very light bouncing on a rebounder. She used it several times a day for 3 to 9 minutes at a time and had astounding results in a relatively short period of time. With her pain gone, Holly continued to bounce longer and harder and added creative exercise movements that trimmed and toned her body in record time! She was inspired to transfer what she had created onto video and share her methods with anyone that might benefit. That was in February of 1992, and today Holly continues to successfully share her knowledge and expertise.Holly’s expertise developed through years as a dance and drill team performer and choreographer, cheerleader, gymnastics competitor, aerobics instructor, and through weight training classes. Holly Anderson is also a Certified ReboundologistTM through Albert Carter CEO of The American Institute of Reboundology, Inc. She has incorporated techniques and methods from her experience and applied them to her video workout format. As a fitness expert, Holly has conducted instructional workshops, staffed certification seminars, provided classes and teaching seminars, created personal training programs and has appeared on both television and radio shows as a rebound exercise expert.Holly has recently begun teaching an aerobics instructor course for Rebound Aerobics. The course is designed to educated and to train aerobics teachers in rebound group exercise classes. The program is specifically designed for implementation in fitness centers. It is structured to give teachers the tools to create fun, effective, daily group exercise classes.

Frequently Asked Questions About
Rebound Aerobics

  1. What is Rebound Aerobics?

Rebound Aerobics is a low impact fat burning exercise that improves balance and coordination and it is fun and energizing! Rebound Aerobics is an aerobics workout based on a rebounder or a mini exercise trampoline. The workout consists of low level ‘healthbounces’ ,alternating leg ‘aerobic bounces’ ,and some ‘strength bounces’ where both legs leave the mat. Rebound Aerobics borrows moves from kickboxing, yoga, floor aerobics, Boxaerobics, and it incorporates some super sports specific moves from slalom skiing, boxing, and tennis.

  2. Is rebound exercise safe?

Rebound exercise is very safe. The large over-sized springs make rebounding very low impact. A study was conducted at the University of Utah by A. W. Daniels, Ph.D., Adjunct Professor, Material Science and Engineering and Orthopedic Surgery of the University of Utah. His objective was to compare the, "impact loads transmitted by rebounding and more conventional exercise surfaces." In other words the impact of jogging on a wooden floor was compared to jogging on a rebounder.

Dr. Daniels found that, "the maximum impact force on the rebounder would only be 1/6 that of the wooden board track."

  3. Will I fall off?

No you aren’t going to fall off. Often times when people first rebound they report a feeling of instability that makes them nervous to rebound. The feeling of instability is normal. You are standing on an unstable surface, and it takes the body time to adjust.

  4. Is there any special equipment or clothing that I need to rebound?

Rebounding is so simple there is little that is required to achieve an effective workout, but there is a lot that you can use in tandem with rebounding for more variety or for a higher intensity of exercise.

The basics. A pair of athletic shoes. Some people do enjoy rebounding in barefeet in their own home but in the healthclub setting athletic shoes are recommended. An athletic shoe provides support across the ankle and it helps to provide traction on the mat of the rebounder. We also recommend supportive clothing, remember you are jumping

  5. Can you train abdominals on the rebounder?

Rebound Aeroibcs also has super toning exercises designed to isolate the abs on the rebounder. When people train abs on a rebounder there are several benefits over training abs on the floor. First the tail bone is cushioned by the mat, so crunches won’t bruise the tail bone or strain lower back on the rebounder. Second you have the ability to make your abs work harder on a rebounder than when doing crunches on the floor. The reason this is true is because of the bounce. The bouncing V sit generates increased Gs across the trunk forcing the abdominal muscles to contract harder in order to control the movent of the chest and head and legs versus a crunch or sit-up executed on the floor.

  6. What has the general response in clubs been to Rebound Aerobics?

People have been very excited to see this innovative low impact exercise that is fun to do. Some of the comment cards that we have received back say:"More, more, more!"Others reported that they felt energized after the rebound aerobics class.

As a formal method of cross training 80% of our participants have rated it ‘excellent’ and the other 20% rated it as ‘good.’
